DINESH RESIDENCE

DINESH RESIDENCE

IST RUNNER UP IN IIID AP INTERIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2008

DESIGN CONCEPT

We had to facelift a 3500 sft bunglow for a family who desired privacy as well as the feeling of being together. The clients were very clear that they did not want a showcase home. Each room had to look different but follow one grid. This unifies the look which is subtle yet festive. Ornate but modern. Colour co-ordination was the real challenge. ‘Brown’ was the colour we chose for the house. Everything from flooring to furniture, upholstery to wall paper was kept in the shades of brown. Various shades of brown – beige, mud brown, rust, walnut, wenge, ebony etc all were used together.

Materials:
Flooring
:- Perlato marble with stips of icon brown granite, in drawing, living dining & staircase. Wooden flooring in master bedroom & home theatre.
Ceiling:- White POP celings in with coves, rafter details in pop & wood. Wooden ceiling in home theatre.
Furniture:- Teak & ebony veneer in drawing , living & common areas. Walnut veneer with polycoating in parents room, wenge with mother of pearl in master bedroom.
Walls:- Asian paints; luster in the shade of morning glory on all the walls except accented wall has wall paper in shades of beige & white.
